RAMZi aka DJ FATi

Bring to mind Middle American indigenous people who travel to India (stopping by Congo on the way for a couple of French lessons), then decide to set off on a space odyssey, where they encounter beings with rudimentary effect units, then come back to earth to form a band. That’s what RAMZi’s music sounds like; weird and twisted, yet familiar and comforting at the same time, “twopikal bounce” in her own words. RAMZi aka DJ FATi does her live sets under the former and DJ sets under the latter moniker. Originally from Canada, DJ FATi’s aka Phoebé Guillemot’s wings have recently caught wind after a few years of idiosyncratic releases on labels like Mood Hut, RVNG Intl. and 1080p Collection, each time revealing more of her sonic world. In case you were wondering what her DJ sets sound like, add some lush and deep house and some dub into the mix and you’re getting close.

Toma Kami

First introduced to electronic music during his formative years in Paris, it was after being involved in the party landscapes of London, Berlin and Shanghai that Toma Kami started to shape his signature aesthetic through his own label Man Band. The influence of these diverse scenes are an apparent factor in his dj sets, combining UK rhythms and electro with deep tropical atmospheres. As a producer he’s been championing his own sound of disjointed beats and swirling percussions through several releases on his own imprint, which also caught the attention of Bristol’s Banoffee pies.
